BENEFITS

Typical lockout and tagout procedures are designed to be carried out by individual workers. But some machine service, repair and mainteance operations require a group effort to carry out. The OSHA LOTO standard requires that employers establish and implement specific procedures for group lockout. This tool will guide you in establishing one of your own. (Click here for more information on group lockout.)

HOW TO USE THE TOOL

The Model Procedure for group lockouts (or tagouts) is an illustration rather than something to adopt verbatim and literally. But while you’ll need to adapt it to meet the actual conditions of your own workplace, the Model Procedure does include the things the LOTO standard requires of a group lockout (or tagout) procedure.
